What are ShapeClips?
ShapeClips are vertically moving actuators that respond to light, and can turn any flat-screen display into a physically moving interface. For example, they can be used to show a physical audio equalizer, or even a terrain map that shows mountainous regions.
Why are they useful?
ShapeClips remove the complexity of building electronics and programming applications, which can be time-consuming, especially for designers without a computer science or engineering background.
Who can use them?
Anyone can use them! ShapeClips allow novel physical interfaces to be easily built by anyone - all you need is a flat-screen display and a simple graphics application (e.g. Microsoft Paint).
